Hellfire Rising takes place at the ruins of a fortified stronghold where the Illuminated Church once contained a demonic gate to the Below. That radiant seal has failed. The gate now stands fully open, spilling demonic goats known as the Trazon into the world as the last remnants of divine chains lie shattered across the courtyard.
The players arrive as clerics and paladins of the Illuminated Church attempt a desperate ritual to force the gate shut. Surrounded and under constant assault by demonic forces, the clerics cannot defend themselves. The players must hold the line, protect the ritual, and survive long enough to seal the gate once more before something far worse forces its way through.
