A short adventure for four to six 5th-level characters!
The Bone Hatchery takes place deep within a rotting swamp, where the skeletal remains of enormous ancient creatures rise from the mire like the ribs of forgotten titans. Strange eggs now cling to the bones in clusters, and travelers passing through the region have begun disappearing without a trace.
The players arrive at the corpse-field and encounter a solitary swamp shaman tending the eggs and warning of a creature that must not be disturbed. Whatever fragile peace exists in the mire quickly shatters as the brood mother returns to defend her nesting grounds. Surrounded by treacherous swamp terrain and hatching young, the players must survive the assault and decide the fate of the growing brood.
